OKX launches in Spain

Written by Erald Ghoos, CEO for OKX Europe

Today marks another exciting milestone for us at OKX, and for the entire crypto community in Spain. We’ve officially launched our fully regulated centralised crypto exchange in the Spanish market, now available through MiCA passporting from our HQ in Malta.

This isn’t just a product launch. It’s a major step forward in our commitment to bringing secure, transparent, and user-first crypto experiences to Europe.

Why Spain?

Spain is one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing markets in the EEA. It’s a country full of crypto-curious individuals, forward-thinking investors, and a vibrant tech scene. We knew from the start that if we were going to do this, we had to do it right, by building a platform that’s regulated, fully localised, and designed to meet the unique needs of Spanish customers.

Now, customers in Spain can access:

  • Over 270 cryptocurrencies, including 60+ crypto-Euro pairs

  • Deep liquidity and low fees

  • Spot trading, staking, and automated trading bots

  • Seamless Euro deposits and withdrawals

  • Intuitive tools and crypto earn products

  • Full Spanish-language support across web, app, and customer service

Whether you're a first-time buyer or a seasoned trader, we’ve built something that makes crypto easier, safer, and more accessible for everyone in Spain.

Our Focus: Trust, Regulation, and Experience

From day one, our goal has been to help lead the industry toward greater maturity and trust. That’s why compliance isn’t just a checkbox for us, it’s core to how we operate. With our MiCA-compliant license and our monthly Proof of Reserves reports (31 and counting), we’re setting a new standard for transparency and user protection.

We’ve also invested heavily in local infrastructure, support, and partnerships so that the Spanish community feels seen, heard, and supported. This is crypto built with Spain, not just for Spain.

Celebrating in Madrid

To celebrate the launch, we hosted an amazing event in Madrid featuring the premiere of our short film Mild Mild West. It’s our creative way of saying goodbye to outdated crypto stereotypes and highlighting how far the industry has come, from chaos to clarity, from hype to trust.

Looking Ahead

Spain is just the beginning. With strong momentum across Europe, including recent launches in Germany and Poland, we’re continuing to grow, adapt, and build with one thing in mind: you.

So, if you’re in Spain, check out what we’ve built. Dive in, explore, and let us know what you think. And if you’re elsewhere in Europe, stay tuned. We’re only getting started.

Let’s build the future of crypto, together.
