problem with airdrop today: they became too big of a deal. everyone on CT has turned into mercenary capital with expectations through the roof. and this has ultimately defeat the very purpose of an airdrop, which is to reward loyal users and turn them into advocate of your project. today, instead of seeing people who received an airdrop saying "thank you" and then supporting your project so it can grow (and ultimately compound their own bag), they’ll sell on day 1, complain they didn’t make 6 figs off a few SOL, and then instantly move on to the next farm... apart from the hyperliquid community, who were wise enough to grasp the power of an airdrop and continued to support the protocol so it could grow into its full potential (and ultimately benefit their own bag over the long run), I haven't seen much success with airdrops lately. this is sad because when you think about it, airdrops are truly an incredible tool unique to crypto to enable new form of distribution of capital and with a very strong rationale behind it. but unfortunately, what worked in the past is not working anymore... how to make airdrop great again?
